I just add about 3 tablespoons of my favourite unsalted peanut butter to the whipped egg yolks It tastes really good I think but I guess it will depend on the type of peanut butter you use. One of our nephews is addicted to it 🙂 🙂

This brings back fond memories of my mother using the same style mixer and teaching me as a young whipper snapper how to beat cream just until it’s stiff. I remember that “aha” moment when it changes so clearly. My mom (with a high school GED) would explain the chemistry of cooking to me — the how and why things changed when you beat them or added this or that. Unfortunately my brain doesn’t think that way and it never stuck!

4 or 5 Tbsp*, sorry!

Also, a little salt boosts the flavor (not a lot!), and mixing in some nuts and/or chocolate is a good way to help dress this up.

Same as the vanilla directions, basically, but dissolve two tablespoons instant espresso powder (I use 4 or 4 Tbsp regular instant coffee) in a quarter cup of very hot water, and add that to the condensed milk (I add vanilla then, too) and chill it in the fridge for a while to play nice with the whipped cream.
